Our customers need animal feed ingredients at the right time, at the right place and in the right quantity. Fortunately, we have a few aces up our sleeve to make that happen. “Our large stocks, alternatives and smart logistics are key”, CEO Adriaan Egas explains.
The importance of just-in-time delivery has only increased in recent years, with many compound feed factories increasing their capacity. “While many companies have invested heavily in faster, better machines, storage capacity has lagged behind”, Adriaan explains, “which means that stocks may only last a few days. We fuel continuity and prevent production from grinding to a halt.”
Our large stocks play an important role in keeping production running, because while customers are able to adjust their recipes, they prefer not to. “That’s why we always keep our biggest product groups in stock” Adriaan explains. “In case of emergencies, we can get a truck on the road and to our customer within a matter of hours. Our sister company, Hengelo-based Op- en Overslag Twente, has also recently opened a new loading bay, where customers can load trucks themselves. Six days a week, 24 hours a day. We’ll only suggest an alternative ingredient as a last resort.”
“We train our people to prioritise efficiency and low costs”
Just-in-time delivery places high demands on our logistics team, which works day in, day out to optimise our logistical operations. “We train our people to prioritise efficiency and low costs”, CEO Adriaan explains, “because it benefits the market. If a customer suddenly gets an order for a rush job, having a lot of trucks on the road really helps. However, our attitude is just as crucial. We always go the extra mile."
